16/11/2014 – Hatters v Tameside – U14s

Hatters under 14’s had an impressive win over the visiting Tameside Royals, despite having 3 of their players ill.

Hatters made a slow start in the first quarter, both sides struggling to score, not until McKerrow and Allen stepped up and scored 6 unanswered baskets between them, Tameside came on strong late on in the quarter which finished with Hatters 19-10 up.

The Hatters came out strongly in the second, stamping their authority on the game, with some strong defensive rebounding from Matewe, with Gwenero doing the same offensively, with Allen also making some important plays which was the springboard for the Hatters finishing the the half 48-24 up.

Although the Hatters went to a half court press it was much the same in the third quarter with Southwell orchestrating the offence, Hatters finished the third quarter 70-38 up.

The Fourth quarter saw the Hatters bench play a significant part in the game with Whitehouse scoring a last second basket to help the Hatters to a convincing 86-53 win, Allen top scoring with 22, full team and scorers:
