Congratulations to Bea for winning the December WBBL player of the month.
Baendu Lowenthal has been crowned the Molten WBBL Player of the Month for December.
Currently in her first WBBL season with Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters, the centre has proven to be a real rock in the paint for last year’s treble winners.
After starting off the campaign in impressive fashion with a blistering debut at WBBL opening weekend in Loughborough, Lowenthal has turned up the heat again after delivering three top displays during December.
She achieved an impressive performance efficiency valuation of 21.67 during the month, a headline number accumulated primarily due to a phenomenal shooting performance in the paint.
Lowenthal converted an outstanding 78% from two-point range, across all three of her outings.
Averaging 16.3 points per game and completing a majestic December double-double with an average of 10 rebounds each time she took to the court, the 27-year-old was also the centrepiece of her team’s progression to the 2016 WBBL Trophy Final.
She delivered the big performance in a memorable and intense 83-79 Semi-Final success against Nottingham Wildcats, when she recorded a powerful 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Lowenthal beat off strong competition from Ashley Harris (Nottingham Wildcats), Amy Browne (Manchester Mystics) and Abigail Asoro (Team Northumbria) who all posted a standout month with their individual performances.
