Thanks to everyone who came to our annual race night on Monday, we raised more money on the night than we have ever done before.
As well as the races we had a number of games throughout the evening, including the our first ever ‘Fish Race’ !!! the aim of the game is to use a newspaper to blow your paper fish across the finish line.
Lining up on the start line were, Abbey Whitehouse, JD Quinn, Molly Axelby, Zoe Silcock, Evie Smyth, Maria Colom,, Josh Edwards and over the hill, rank outsider Mark Southwell.
After a good start from Josh and Molly’s fish veering off course and impeding JD, a slow start by Abbey and a poor flapping technique by Evie, left them all with to much to do in the home straight, and what can I say about Mark!!! I think it’s time he put his fish back in the tank, hung up his newspaper and took up knitting, he actually managed to make his fish go backwards!!! that left Maria and Zoe to fight it out for the win, after a stewards enquiry and a hefty fine for Molly for not adequately controlling her fish, the winner was declared as Zoe just winning by a fish scale.
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the night possible with special thanks Mel Axelby for all her hard work organising the event.
Also a big thanks to our race sponsors
