On Saturday the U12s head to Manchester for a 12.30pm tip (originally a second game v Leicester was planned but there is now only one game). Meanwhile the U14P team welcome Stockport Lapwings to All Saints also for a 12.30pm tip.

Finally Peterman FLT Sheffield Hatters (our WBBL team) head for Nottingham for a 6.30pm tip on Saturday evening at the Wildcats Arena.

On Sunday the day begins ...

Hatters v Luton – U16 Prem

Posted by:

The Sheffield Hatters U16 Premier team continued their winning ways by emphatically beating Luton by 33 points. It was a good all-round performance by the squad. The first quarter consisted of persistent and intensive defence from the Hatters. This led to a number of steals. Good ball movement and attack minded play lead to the quarter ending 19-13 to the Hatters. The second quarter continued in a similar fashion to the first. Dana and Alice hustled on the boards and ...

Newcastle v Hatters – U14

Posted by:

A potentially difficult game lay head for the U14 girls against an unfamiliar Newcastle team. A back and forth start to the game showed both teams trying to figure each other out while holding a deadlock after the first quarter.
A deep Newcastle team showed the Hatters some good half court defensive pressure for the first quarter while adding offensive pressure with dribble penetration from the wings and from the top. Hatters defensive breakdowns had them playing catchup, chasing the ball ...

Hatters v Stockport – Division 2

Posted by:

Div 2 started off strong with great offensive and defensive rebounds from the whole team allowing us to run the lanes for easy baskets and gain the lead 7-12.

Div 2 remained sharp in the second quarter forcing Stockport to try harder on collecting rebounds. A few fouls near the end of quarter allowed Stockport to gain a few more points so that they were trailing behind 6 points.

After half time, Div 2 continued to put pressure on the opposition and ...

Hatters v Hatfield – U16 Conf

Posted by:

The first game in the U16 Conference for the Hatters against Hatfield and it was a tight game all the way up to the 36th minute when the Hatters late run was timed perfectly.
The lead changed hands several times throughout the game. Hatters good team play of keeping the ball moving was impressive as they orchestrated baskets as a team, while Hatfield constantly put pressure on the Hatters defense with dribble drives down the middle of the key and ...

Hatters v Derby – Division 2

Posted by:

The game started off intensely with Div 2 putting a lot of pressure defensively on the opposition, unfortunately during the last couple of minutes Derby were able to gain the lead ending the first quarter with 9-11.

The second quarter wasn’t as fast paced with little shots being made from both sides, the score being 14-20 to Derby.

After half time, Hatters came back on court as intensely as they had started and won the quarter (14-13), mostly down to really good ...

Derby v Hatters – U16 Prem

Posted by:

The Sheffield Hatters U16’s Premier team began the new season with an away win at Derby Trailblazers. They got off to a slow start and were down by 19-12 at the end of the first quarter. The girls began to shake off the cob-webs and approached the second quarter with a more determined mind-set. At the end of the quarter the score was much closer 28-27, Derby under pressure but leading by 1 point.
Eventually, the Hatters dogged pressure on defence ...
