The Girls camp coached by GB Womens player Lauren Thomas-Johnson on Tuesday was a great success, with girls travelling from all over Yorkshire to attend.

Lauren an accomplished England international at cadette, Under-16 and Under-18 levels, stepping up to Under-20 level with Great Britain in the 2007 European Championship, averaging an impressive 17 ppg. Moving to the USA to progress her basketball career in 2004. leading Kirkwood to back-to-back NJCAA Tournament championships in 2007 and 2008 and was MVP in 2008. Joining Sheffield ...

Busy Saturday at All Saints

This Saturday sees three Hatters games back to back at All Saints School.  The action begins at 12 noon when the U14s take on Manchester Mystics who are currently unbeaten having won their first three league games.  The Hatters have also won all their games but had to concede their first game of the season due to a technicality. Best Ever Race Night & The Fish Race!!

Thanks to everyone who came to our annual race night on Monday, we raised more money on the night than we have ever done before.

As well as the races we had a number of games throughout the evening, including the our first ever ‘Fish Race’ !!! the aim of the game is to use a newspaper to blow your paper fish across the finish line.

25/10/2014 – Hatters v Stockport 1 U14s

City of Sheffield Hatters under 14’s took on an unbeaten Stockport 1 at All Saints on Saturday.

Hatters made a great start and finished the first quarter 19-6 up, this was without Jess Southwell who had to be benched early having received 3 quick fouls.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern with some good defensive pressure applied to the Stockport offence, providing a number of turnovers, Hatters finishing 30-13 up.

23/10/2014 – Hatters v Harrogate Raiders – Yorkshire League

City of Sheffield Hatters with a mixture of club seniors and juniors started their local league season with a convincing win over experienced Leeds League side Harrogate Raiders 68 – 48.

In the first quarter the Hatters set the pace with a 21 – 12 lead converting solid team defence into fastbreak opportunities.

Cup Weekend and Junior Games

Helen Naylor named in Team of the Week for the second week running

Helen Naylor is once again in the WBBL team of the week.

It’s another appearance for the Hatters’ star as her team made light work of despatching Leeds. Naylor finished the contest with a stellar 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals in an all-action display to register the best performance valuation of the weekend.
