Our beloved mini-bus has finally gone over the rainbow bridge to mini-bus heaven, It’s served us well for the past 13 years, and helped us to provide countless opportunities for the 7 inclusive teams we run for girls and women aged from 7 to 60+. A mini-bus enables us to transport girls and women, who are unable to travel to games that take place across the country. It allows us to reach communities from across Sheffield City Region, and without it, we fear for the future of our club.
We need to raise a total of £10,000 to purchase a mini-bus, which will be used by our 7 inclusive basketball teams. The players and volunteers from across the 7 teams add up to over 100 people, who are based across Sheffield and Sheffield City Region.
Our aim is to raise the profile of women’s sport, particularly basketball, and provide accessible opportunities to all women and girls across the region. Our club is a pillar of the community, since it was established in 1961 and has provided immense opportunities for the girls and women involved. From playing at Hatfield House lane school, to Wembley Arena our players and volunteers have been part of history with our chair and founder receiving and OBE for her services to women’s basketball.
