Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters put WBBL newcomers Durham Palatinates to the sword in their season-opener, winning 91-37 as they pursue a return to the top following a season without a trophy.

The lead was built with a three-point barrage, going through thirty just after half time when Hatters hit their tenth triple to put the game well beyond the visitors.

Turning Point – Hatters scored 13 points in a row after being down early in the first quarter, making the score 17-5 on a pair of Krisztina Velkey three-pointers. That became an insurmountable 25-11 first quarter lead.
