Hatters v London Greenhouse Pioneers – U18s

Posted by:

Sheffield Hatters U18 faced London Greenhouse Pioneers in their quarter final play off for a place at the National Final Fours. A blistering start by the Hatters in the form of a 9-2 run showed their intentions right from the outset and they led 23-11 at the end of the first quarter, behind 8 points from Shauna Harrison but a great team effort rebounding and hustling. The Hatters began the quarter with a lovely 3 point play from JD Quinn which heralded an 11-0 run to extend their lead to over 20 points – holding Pioneers to just 8 quarter points to head into the locker room with the score 41-19. However in the third period Pioneers showed they would not go down so easily and clawed back some of the lead behind 11 points from Wura Lielu resulting in a score of 55-40. The fourth quarter was a low scoring affair but Jo Lowry gave a masterclass in finishing to aid the Hatters to a 66-51 victory and a place at Final Fours. This means that this Hatters team has reached Final Fours at every age group, and would greatly appreciate your support for their last Final Fours at Belle Vue Basketball Centre in Manchester on the 30th April for their semi final at 4.15.
