WBBL Trophy Group Stage
Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters 94-80 Manchester Mystics

Last Sunday, Hatters were making history by lifting the WBBL Cup for the very first time and now they are eyeing up the WBBL Trophy.

They made a statement of intent with a powerful home win against Mystics who struggled to keep pace and had no answer to last week’s Cup MVP, Sarah Toeaina who was super again.

Leading scorers – Sarah Toeaina 32, Helen Naylor 19, Alison Gorrell 15 (Hatters) – Rheanne Bailey 22, Georgia Jones 18, Evelyn Ovner 14 (Mystics).

Turning point – A great start for Hatters had them in the box seat by the end of the opening period and they had no cause to look back.

Key stat – 63% from two-point range was sublime for Hatters, obviously based on the outstanding contribution from their prize forward.

Game hero(es) – Toeiana continued her superb form and picked up where she left off at Arena Birmingham with a stellar double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds from a jaw-dropping 13 of 14 from the field. Levke Brodersen also handed out 13 assists.
