Hatters continued their winning streak against Manchester rivals the Mystics. The eleven player team consisted of; Abbey Whitehouse (4), Alice Fallon (5), Zoe Kateregga (6), Lauren Knowles (7), Jess Morey (8), Ella Whitehouse (9), Ashante Richards (10), Vanessa Oji (11), Laetitia kasongo (12), Charlotte Timms (13) and Tatiana Nsoungani (15). The whole team played well and were rewarded with a 21 point win.

In the first quarter the game was extremely close as both teams played good defence and traded baskets which resulted, unfortunately, in a two point lead for Manchester. The Hatters fought ferociously but didn’t quite manage to bring it back.

During the second quarter the Hatters pulled back due to some awesome drives from Ashante and great structured offence from the entire team. The Sheffield girls then used their lead to their advantage by dragging out the offence and not giving any turnovers. This resulted in a 29-22 lead for the hatters at the end of the quarter.

The third quarter was when things really became serious for the Hatters. With Ashante scoring drive after drive and some serious, strategic defence from the girls they pulled far in front of the Mystics. But the highlight of the quarter was the astounding baseline move from Charlotte and Tatiana. When Tatiana baseline drove for the basket she then faked a shot and dished it off to Charlotte who was ready under the basket. This gained another 2 points for the Hatters. Laetitia also played well by scoring baskets and getting into some great positions for passes. By combining all of this the Hatters finished the quarter 46-31. 15 points ahead of the Mystics.

In the fourth quarter hatters continued their form with some great offence and strong defence. They became tired near the end but after some motivational words from their coach during a time out the Sheffield girls were soon back on form. With some awesome assistance from the bench players the Hatters stormed to victory with a 64-43 win over Manchester Mystics.

Ashante Richards was the top scorer for the hatters this game with 31 points and Charlotte Timms reaching double figures for the first time this season with 11 points.
