Myerscough v Hatters – U18s
Today Sheffield Hatters under 18s made the long away trip to Myerscough Basketball Academy. The match today was a must win match to help the girls in there push for the play offs.
The match started at a very quick pace end to end basketball with Myerscough scoring 3 lovely 3 pointers in the 1st quarter. The Hatters girls quickly rose to the challenge putting together a string of lovely passes to open up the space and finished off the move will lovely layups. The 1st quarter ended 13 v 11 to Myerscough.
In the 2nd quarter the girls started to press high up the court to try and push the Myerscough offense into making mistakes and trap them. This started to pay off and the girls took the 2nd quarter 16 v 18 going into halftime at 29 all.
In the 3rd quarter the Hatters really pushed on. Brigha scored a lovely 3 pointer and the girls were strong under the basket and much more attacking. After 3 mins they had Myerscough on team fouls and went on to take 20 points from the quarter. At the end of the 3rd quarter the score was 41 v 49.
This made for a tight 4th quarter. Myerscough got a quick 4 points bringing the score back to 45 v 49 but then the Hatters came back and put on a fantastic performance crowned with a lovely 3 pointer from Ronnie at the death. The final score finished 53 v 68 to the Hatters. Great win Girls!!
The top scorer today was Brigha. Brigha was fantastic all round today tracking back, defending well and very physical when pushing forward scoring 6 lovely layups, 2 free throws and a 3 pointer.
