Sheffield Hatters U14s Are Back on Winning Form

City of Sheffield Hatters U14 Girls returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 73 – 35 win against Cheshire. The win never looked in doubt as the Hatters raced into a 10 – 0 lead in the early stages of the first quarter. A spirited Cheshire managed to stem the tide however, eventually troubling the scoreboard to end the quarter with a 18 – 8 Hatters lead.
The 2nd quarter was pretty much the same and it was only some basic errors that prevented Hatters totally running away with it as they went into half-time at 37 – 17. The break did nothing to change things and Hatters pulled away even further ending the 3rd quarter 57 – 25 up and Cheshire starting to look rather dejected.
It wasn’t until the final quarter that Cheshire seemed to show some spirit and a tired looking Hatters allowed the home team to make the scoreline a little more respectable. The late showing was nowhere near enough to close the gap and Hatters finished the game with a comfortable 38 point advantage to go 2nd in the league and increase their play off chances.
The U14s are doing extremely well and are currently second in the england basketball league. Well done girls.
