Fresh from propelling Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters to their maiden WBBL title, Great Britain star Steph Gandy has been crowned Molten WBBL Player of the Month for a third time.
The forward has been in sensational form throughout 2015 and earlier this week, underlined her incredible productivity and influence by cementing an astonishing sixth successive place in the WBBL Team of the Week.
Following on from Hatters’ play-caller Vanessa Ellis scooping the coaching honour, Gandy ensured another awards double for Sheffield with the duo both hanging on to the gongs they were awarded in February.
Having also won the prestigious accolade for December, it’s now a hat-trick for Gandy as she continues to be the leading light for the all-conquering Hatters.
Yet again she was the leader in terms of her performance valuation, averaging a massive 28.67 as Hatters triumphed in all three of their games during March.
Gandy racked up 27 points per game and led the league in scoring during the period.
She also did a stunning job on the boards and was the second best rebounder in the league, pulling down 10.3 per game to average a monthly double-double, as well as handing out three assists per game.
Gandy fought off competition from Sevenoaks Suns’ playmaker Francis Donders to take the award, with Annie Kassongo of Nottingham Wildcats and another Suns’ player in Cat Carr also in the running.Share
