Today the Sheffield Hatters were away to Stockport Lapwings who were 6th in the table with 6 wins and 7 losses.
The Hatters girls lost the tip and Stockport broke away and scored a quick layup, this set the tone for the game very end to end. The Hatters girls had a bit of a shaky start but soon got into there rhythm with Tash and Catherine starting to bury the rebounds. The 1st quarter ended 8 v 18 to us.
The girls continued there good run in the 2nd quarter defending really well restricting Stockport to just 9 points from the quarter. At halftime the score was 17 v 36.
After the halftime the girls came out and pressed high up the court scoring 9 points without reply, Stockport called a timeout. The timeout was used to good effect as they too put on a run of baskets without reply. The girls soon got back into the swing of things and took the 3rd quarter 14 points to 18. The score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 31 v 54.
In the 4th quarter the girls continued to make lovely plays, finishing well and putting in some fantastic blocks. The final score ended 44 v 71. Another great win girls.
The top scorer today was Tash on 18 points. Tash has been on fantastic form recently converting 8 attacking rebounds and 2 free throws.
