Surrey Goldhawks v Sheffield Hatters

The girls enjoyed their second victory of the new national premier league, away against Surrey Goldhawks. The girls started the game with great intensity and confidence leading 13-4 at the end of the first.

 Continuing the pressured defence from the whole team and strong offensive and defensive rebounding from Tash Matawe, Hatters managed to keep the home side to just 7 second quarter points to lead 21-11 at the half. 

leading into the third quarter hatters again started with confidence and continued with the successful execution of drives from Iona Mckerrow and good outside shooting from Brigha Allen, this left the score at 37-24 at the end of the quarter. 

Going into the forth quarter, Goldhawks came out strong with a well played zone press which forced the hatters into several turnovers, changing the game completely, Surrey managed to bring the score to a tight 42-40 gap with just 4 minutes to go of the game. However the Hatters kept calm as Jessica Southwell snatched a few important baskets seeing the game finish 50-45 to the Sheffield Hatters.
