I Forget Things, A Lot

Posted by:

I have an decent memory. I also think I blank out a lot. Sometimes when people are speaking to me. I can’t help it, my mind loves to wander. So here are some of the things I forget.

Birthdays & Anniversaries: Sorry Mom & Dad. Every year two days before my parents anniversary I say to myself, “Sabe, your parents anniversary is in two days, do NOT forget to call/text and tell them.” Sure enough, the day of, I completely forget ...

Snow Day :(

Posted by:

If you know me, you know I don’t like snow. Anytime I wake up and look outside and see snow, I know that my day is not going to go the way I want it, unless I stay inside. With that being said, I had a great day yesterday.

I woke up at 8am. I know, amazing right? I had to get to the bus to head to Uni, which was not fun. Cold toes…brrrrr. I spent from 9 am to ...

You Play Basketball?

Posted by:

Hello again. Finally, I’ve handed in all my work. I am supposed to be sleep right now because I slept a total of three hours after printing and arranging all my work last night. However, since my brain likes to sleep when it feels like it (particularly when someone is giving me driving directions), I have decided to share with everyone some of the things people say to me when they find out I play basketball.

1. I am going to ...

The Art of Procratination

Posted by:

This past summer I started reading a book called The Art of Procrastination. After reading the chapter on how to take naps randomly during the day, it be came clear to me that I was a professional at this so I closed the book and started reading Time Management for Dummies (ironically, still haven’t found the time to finish that one).

So here I am living amongst the hills of Sheffield working on a masters course, playing basketball (when not injured), ...

Language Barriers

Posted by:

When I tell people I am playing basketball in England they always do one of two things: Ask me if they speak English in England (the answer is in the question), or they say “Cheerio mate” to which I reply “except they don’t actually say cheerio”.

It has been nice playing in England though because there isn’t a real big language barrier, but let’s be honest, a lot of the things we say in America are not the same over here. ...

Pet Peeves

Posted by:

These are a list of things that annoy me at the gym, just because it needs to be said. This happens in England and America and if you are described below, I encourage you to stop it.

1. When people don’t put weights back after use.
Makes me think their house must be a mess, but that’s fine, it’s your home. This is the gym. Clean up after yourself.

2. When people have 3 different sets of dumbells in front of them ...

Wednesday Night Thoughts

Posted by:

Recap of the season until now:

After tearing my achilles and being condemned to the bench for the first half of the season, I’ve been able to watch a lot of basketball. Our first game, we added Julie to the team and I believe that she hadn’t practiced with us before then. It was a Cup game against Leeds that we won by 20 plus. Since that game, we haven’t lost a game (9-0) and have beaten every team by 20 ...

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Posted by:

The first thing that you should know about me is that I am very random.

I love basketball. Always have and always will, probably more so than most people you will meet. My parents tell me I cried for 7 months straight as a baby and was only quiet when I was watching basketball with my Father or my parents were driving me around in a car. I didn’t like to be held, and I actually beat the cliche and ran ...
