British Masters Champions 2017 – Hatters finish season with a Trophy!

Last Saturday Hatters Masters were in action at the Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester where they beat “Pick and Mix” (a South East based team) in a closely contested first game of the tournament.  It was the 3rd quarter before the team finally got into its stride,  after struggling to overcome the 8 to 1 first half foul count in Pick & Mix’s favour!…..a positive start to the 2nd half gave Hatters the edge as they ...

Yorkshire Finish 3rd in National Mini Basketball

Names of players:  Grace Holmes, Isobelle Murphy, Marley Littler, Isabel Chatakondu (York Vikings), Favour Omos, Mia Batty, Daisy Cullen, Crystal Lisle (Rotherham Hawks).

Hatters Girls Represent Yorkshire U17’s

Well done to JD, Beth, Brigha, Emma, Iona, Ronnie & Catherine, for representing Yorkshire in the under 17’s National Regional Tournament, which is being held at Belle Vue Basketball centre in Manchester on the 3rd and 4th of September. U12 Tournament in Leeds

On 21st of November some of our youngest players went to Leeds to take part in a regional tournament.  Hatters were represented by Abbey Whitehouse, Charlotte Timms, Mia Cauthorn, Gianah Modest, Victoria Hallutt, Bailey Cook, Vanessa Oji and Laetitia Kasongo. It was an excellent opportunity for many of the younger players to get lots of game time and experience on court.  The results for Hatters were as follows:

Hatters Girls Represent Yorkshire U17s

Yorkshire U17’s Squad represented by 6 Sheffield Hatters, came away from the tournament with a clean sweep, winning all four of their games.

Their opening game was against South West and they won that convincingly with a 67-32 win. Their second game was against North East and a 94-41win ensured they went into the second day with a confident team spirit.

Hatters Girls Represent Yorkshire U13’s

Well done to Ella, Abbey, Zoe and Alice for representing Yorkshire in the national regional tournament held at All Saints, also to Ashante Richards who represented East Midlands.

The girls were a credit to the team, they played well, learning with each game and all achieving baskets. The team finished 6th overall.

Also worthy of note is the fact that Charlotte Timms and Maisie Palmer turned out to assist with the North East team who were decimated by injury on Saturday and both girls ...

Under 16s Travel to St Albans

Hatters under 16’s travel to St Albans to play a friendly against Oaklands College and to support Georgie Gayle play for England under 18’s against Holland.

The day started with us playing Oaklands on Saturday, the girls showing their potential for next season coming out on top winning 55 to 33.
