In the second quarter the hatters began to gain more and more steals from the royals with increasingly tough defence and well timed interceptions. With Zoe, Maizie and Abbey all scoring drive after drive the home team didn’t stand a chance thus ending the half Hatters 53 – Royals 17.
By the third quarter the opposition’s fate was sealed as the hatters went on a scoring streak that cut through the defence easily and allowed the Sheffield team plenty of easy baskets. And with some great free throws from the majority of players on court the quarter ended Sheffield 78 – Tameside 25.
The fourth quarter saw the Hatters finish off the Royals, their offence seemed to be almost unstoppable and their defence impenetrable as they quickly and cleanly finished off the opposition. The game ended Hatters 100 – Royals 32.
