There are few faces as familiar to our All-Star Five as Gandy, with the veteran still going strong and a major influence. Having also played well in the win at Mystics on Saturday, she followed it up with an even better effort against BA London Lions 24 hours later, when she corralled 21 points from 61% floor-shooting, while also adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
A clear and present danger which all of Hatters’ opponents will now be acutely aware of after a super start to her WBBL career, Woods is back for her second slot in our fab five. She registered another big performance with 21 points and 12 rebounds in the victory at at Manchester Mystics, as well as offering 3 blocked shots, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Krizstina Velkey (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
The WBBL debutante had a first league game to remember in a Hatters vest, since she was also a performer that was not far away from securing a triple-double. Velkey was in red-hot form against Durham Palatinates with a dazzling 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists to her name.
Gianna Woods (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
Another WBBL rookie to shine brightly for Hatters, Woods also showed that she could be a force this season after an eye-catching opening salvo against Durham. She took her new team to a commanding home floor victory with a powerful 16-point and 12-rebound double-double haul.
