Sheffield, UK - 1st August, 2026 - The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters are pleased to announce the signing of Laycee Drake for the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old 5’6” American guard, hailing from Hancock, New York, signs her first professional contract for the Hatters for the new Super League Basketball season. Laycee played for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in the NCAAW 2025/26 season, averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Drake has spent 5 seasons in the NCAAW, also playing for the Albany Great Danes (2024/25) and UMBC Retrievers (2021-2024) in her college career.
Laycee is looking forward to joining the Hatters, stating, “I’m really excited to be signing for the Hatters in 2026/27. This will be my first season as a professional and I can’t wait to get started. The clubs’ success last season, completing the clean sweep of trophies, and the conversations I had with Coach Ellis made it a very easy decision for me to sign in Sheffield.”

Despite this being her first professional contract, she has five strong years of experience in the American college system, which I’m sure will stand her in good stead as she begins her professional basketball journey.
